List of activities in children's re mixed-ages groups that can be led or facilitated by adults
NOTE: As of Nov. 6, all of the activity stations described below have assigned leaders. Thank you! Watch for additional opportunities coming up in January and onward.

You do not have to have children in the RE program in order to benefit from this spiritual growth opportunity. We are looking for at least one congregant for at least two Sundays a month, to partake in this experience-- a "spark."

Sept. 25 “The Air We All Breathe” Age range: 3rd-9th grade
Monthly theme for church: Memory
Oct. 2 “Earth Memories” Children’s Chapel, at 10am
Age range: age 5-9th grade
Weather permitting; activities that follow will be outside
Oct. 9 “Trees – Spiritual and Memorable” Age range 3rd-9th grade
Monthly theme for church: Blessing
Nov. 6 “Animals as Blessings in Our Lives” Children’s Chapel, at 10am

Monthly theme for church: Deepening connections
Sept. 25 “The Air We All Breathe” Age range: 3rd-9th grade
- Demonstration and experiments related to Joseph Priestley’s discoveries about oxygen (involves flame, vinegar and baking soda)
- Investigation – checking our lung volume and lung power
- Art/Crafts – making small parachutes out of recycled plastic bags
Monthly theme for church: Memory
Oct. 2 “Earth Memories” Children’s Chapel, at 10am
Age range: age 5-9th grade
Weather permitting; activities that follow will be outside
- Contemplative practice – “Mind in a Jar” (involves a simple activity of swirling sand in water and watching it settle)
- Investigation – homemade fossils
- Art/Crafts – making a clay “earth bead”
- Sensory experience and investigation – feeling different kinds of soil/earth; checking water percolate through soil
Oct. 9 “Trees – Spiritual and Memorable” Age range 3rd-9th grade
- Go on a walk to Grafton Common; be with a small group getting to know one tree
Monthly theme for church: Blessing
Nov. 6 “Animals as Blessings in Our Lives” Children’s Chapel, at 10am
Age range: age 5-9th grade
Activities to follow:
- Art -- Paint your favorite animal or pet.
- Game -- Ani-gram-it Cards
- Finish building a bat house. We have the materials and design.
- Yoga animal poses
